The Hot Selection 14.12.10
Hour one of this week's show was definitely the free-form selection you would expect: A touch of synth pop, classic 80s New York, lush mellow hip hop including brand new Jay Electronica. All of that as well as head-nod from Denmark and a handful of vocal soul cuts.
Hour two stepped up the tempos with new music from Theo Parrish LP 'sketches', deep house sounds of 6th Sense as remixed by Hiroshi Watana, and an inspired re-work of one of the best-known disco vocals of all time. A departure from the original track into something much more understated and slightly sinister.
To round it all up; an upfront pre-release play for UK singer Belle in arguably her finest release in what has proven to be a fruitful pairing with producer Requiem.
Enjoy!
